The primary function of the Criminal Investigations Division is to conduct follow-up investigations of reported crimes. These investigations consist of interviewing suspects, victims, and witnesses, analyzing information for validity, and accuracy. The CID is charged with compiling a comprehensive and factual case file to be presented in court.
The Criminal Investigations Division is comprised of 8 personnel, 1 Captain (Division Commander) 4 Detectives and 3 Crime Scene Investigators.
An on call Investigator is assigned by rotation to cover calls for service between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. the following day to provide an Investigator 24 hours a day.
Investigations are assigned daily after being reviewed. Once your case is assigned to an Investigator, that Investigator will contact you via the information that you provided to the reporting officer.
Should you have additional information regarding your case after the investigator has gone off duty, leave them a phone message or an email and they will contact you at their earliest convenience.
