Tuesday, March 14 - Treasurers in Our Local Woods: Indiana Wildflowers

  • Registration is required via email
  • When: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center

Make your next walk in the local wood at Starkey Nature Park, Zion Nature Sanctuary, or Turkey Foot Nature Park a treasure hunt. Join Myrene Brown to learn about some of our interesting plants that appear early in the spring in local woodlands. Get some tips as to where you should look to find these ephemeral treasures and make hunting for them part of your next hike in the wood. Registration is required as space is limited.

Friday, March 17 - Animal Adventures: Signs of Spring

  • Registration is required
  • When: 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Ages: 3 - 6 years with an adult
  • Where: Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library & Zion Nature Center

Meet at the Library for story time fun. Afterwards, we will "migrate" to the Zion Nature Center to explore signs of spring all around us.

Saturday, March 18 - Search for Green Scavenger Hunt

  • When: 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center
The first day of spring is right around the corner. Join us for a hunt along the trail through Zion Nature Sanctuary. We'll search for signs that spring is approaching with a fun, family friendly scavenger hunt.

Saturday, March 25 - Starkey Park Project

  • When: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Starkey Nature Park, 667 Sugarbush Dr.
Observations are being collected with iNaturalist throughout 2017 to help Zionsville Parks and Recreation have a better understanding of the species and habitats that thrive within Starkey Park. Bring your smart phone or camera and join Park Naturalist Mindy Murdock as she explores the seasonal changes in the park.
