At the most recent meeting on April 9, the Zionsville Town Council passed an amendment to the Town’s smoking ordinance. The amendment updates the smoking ordinance (which bans cigarettes, pipes and cigars) to also ban tobacco and tobacco products or derivatives, e-cigarettes and vaping in parks, public places and places of employment.
The ban includes all municipal property (exclusive of public rights-of-way) owned or leased by the Town or the Zionsville Board of Parks and Recreation.
“Zionsville is known for our quality of life so this ordinance amendment is the right thing to do,” said Mayor Tim Haak. “It protects the public health of individuals in Zionsville buildings and restaurants and those using our parks.”
