Candidate Election Signs Regulations

Below is an overview of the Town of Zionsville requirements as set forth by the Zoning Ordinance of the Town as they pertain to Temporary Signage being utilized for elections.

  • To ensure public safety, signs are not permitted to be placed in the Public Right-of-Way.
  • To ensure public safety, signs are not permitted to be placed in the Vision Clearance Area at street/alley/driveway intersections.
  • In compliance with Indiana State Code IC 36-1-3-11:  Temporary Signs associated with elections may be erected beginning sixty (60) days from Election Day and must be removed on the sixth (6) day after the election.  Temporary signs associated with elections surface area shall not exceed thirty-two (32) square feet.
