Ticket/Infraction Violation Information

How to Pay a Ticket

For Those Charged With a Traffic Offense

If you wish to admit your ticket(s) and pay without coming to Court, you may do so for certain offenses. The schedule below shows the total fine and costs for eligible ordinance and infraction violations. Once a citation is issued, court costs are assessed. The amount of the costs is set by the legislature and must be paid whether you appear in court or not (unless you are found not guilty or your case is dismissed). To admit your ticket, please sign the back of your copy of the ticket(s) and mail to the Court, together with your payment, before your scheduled Court appearance. Admitting the charge(s) will result in an entry of judgment against you. All judgments will be certified to the Commissioner of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or the state where you received a license to drive.

Payment may be made by mail or in person with a cashier’s check, money order or personal check made payable to Zionsville Town Court. Zionsville Town Court, 1100 W. Oak Street, Zionsville, IN 46077. If you have questions, you may call the Court Clerk at 317-873-8240 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Cash, check, money order or cashier’s check are accepted when payment is made in person. To pay in person, please visit the Clerk Treasurer’s office 1100 West Oak Street, Zionsville, Indiana Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS, PHONE PAYMENTS OR PARTIAL PAYMENTS.

If you choose to plead not guilty, you must appear for your scheduled Court appearance. A trial date will then be assigned for a later day.

There are certain offenses for which you must appear in Court: (1) Felonies and misdemeanors; (2) Accident Offenses, (3) Speeding School Zone or 26 and over the limit, (4) Reckless Driving, (5) Driving While Suspended, (6) Driving Without Being Licensed to Drive, (7) Passing School Bus While Loading or Unloading, (8) Any Offense for Which you are Told to Personally Appear by the Arresting Officer or Court Personnel.

The Schedule below lists amounts for those eligible to prepay their violation(s). Fine amounts will vary for those who must appear in court and those who miss their initial court date. The fines specified may not be applicable if convicted after trial. Indiana law provides that fines for moving violations range from $0 to $10,000 and possible license suspension for 30 days or more.

Failure to appear or pay by the date indicated on your ticket will result in License Suspension until the case is cleared, and/or a warrant being issued for your arrest
