The Economic Development Commission is tasked with improving the economic well-being of the community through efforts that entail job creation, job retention, tax base enhancements and quality of life.
The Economic Development Commission investigates, studies and surveys the need for additional job opportunities, industrial diversification, water services and pollution control facilities and recommends actions to improve or promote job opportunities, industrial diversification, water services, and availability of pollution control facilities.
The commission is comprised of three members. One member is appointed by the Mayor, one member is appointed by the Town Council and one member is appointed by the fiscal body of the County. Term of service is three years if appointed by the Mayor, two years if appointed by the Town Council and one year if appointed by the County fiscal body.
