Wednesday, July 11 - Patriotic Dog Walk

  • When: 6 – 7 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Sanctuary, 690 Beech Street
What a great way for you and your dog to get out and socialize during one of our monthly group dog walks. Show your patriotic spirit and feel free to dress in red, white and blue. We’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of a summer evening hike through the park. Don’t forget your bug spray!

Friday, July 13 - Mommy & Me Camp

  • Registration Required
  • When: 9 - 11 a.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street
  • Ages: 1 - 3 years with adult
  • Fee: $10
Give your toddler an introduction to nature with their very own nature camp. With mom by our side, we’ll discover who lives in our backyard and explore outside with all our senses. You may only sign your child up for one Mommy & Me Camp.

July 16 - 20 - Biologist Boot Camp

  • Registration Required
  • When: 1 – 4 p.m. Daily
  • Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street
  • Ages: 9 – 11 years
  • Fee: $85

Pull on those hiking boots and prepare for a week of outdoor activities and hands-on habitat investigations with biologists. Explore the animals and plants in your backyard with nets, binoculars, microscopes and science!

Saturday, July 21 - Moth Night Out - CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

  • Registration is closed as event is cancelled due to weather
  • When: 9 – 10 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street
  • Ages: 6 years and up with adult

It’s National Moth Week, a global celebration of moths and biodiversity. There are over 11,000 species of moths in North America. Your mission, if you choose to accept, is a night of mothing with the Zion Nature Center. Mothing is the act of attracting and discovering these amazing nocturnal insects.

Friday, July 27 - Nocturnal Nature Camp

  • Registration is CLOSED
  • When: 6 - 10 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street
  • Ages: 8 - 14 years
  • Fee: $20
Are you afraid of the dark? Join us to explore the park at dark! We'll discover all things nocturnal with activities and a hike. Then end the evening enjoying a crackling campfire and roasting marshmallows.

Tuesday, July 31 - Animal Adventures: Katydids

  • When: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
  • Where: Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library and Zion Nature Center
  • Ages: 3 – 6 years with adult
Meet at the Library for story time fun. Afterwards, we will walk to the Zion Nature Center to explore the life and sounds of katydids.
