Thursday, November 5 - Toddler Trek
- Registration is required for all participants
- When: 10 – 11 am
- Where: Creekside Nature Park, 11001 East Sycamore Street
- Ages: 5 & under with adult
Spending time outdoors has numerous benefits for a child's physical and emotional well-being. Join us for a hike to play, explore, and watch the season change. Toddler Trek is rain or shine (with the exception of severe weather). Dress for the weather and be prepared to get moving!
Saturday, November 7 - Bombs Away!
- Registration is required for all participants
- When: 2 - 3 pm
- Where: Mulberry Fields Park, 9645 Whitestown Road
Join us at Mulberry Fields Park as we explore native wildflowers and seeds. Dress to get a little dirty, as we make fun seed balls using native seeds and recycled paper. Then help “bomb” the meadow with seed bombs the nature center staff prepared ahead.
Friday, November 13 - Morning Bird Hike
- Registration is required for all participants
- When: 8:30 – 9:30 am
- Where: Turkey Foot Nature Park, 4795 Turkeyfoot Avenue
- Ages: 10 & up
Start your morning with a hike to spot birds! All levels of birding experience welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them. We will have a few available to borrow.
Saturday, November 14 - Whooo Done It?
- Registration is required for all participants
- When: 2 - 3 pm
- Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street
- Ages: 5 & up with adult
Solve a mystery while tracking down some clues around the nature center and the trails. The answer will be a “hoot!”
Wednesday, November 18 - Nature Faces
- Registration is required for all participants
- When: 10 - 11 a.m.
- Where: Turkey Foot Nature Park,4795 Turkeyfoot Avenue
Join the Nature Center staff on a nature hike through the park. We’ll explore and collect items along the way. Then let your imagination soar as you create your unique nature portrait.
Saturday, November 21 – Tree of Thanks
- Registration is required for all participants
- When: 2 - 3 pm
- Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street
- Ages: 5 & up with adult
Where does the holiday Thanksgiving come from? Learn how early Americans and Native Americans lived off the land and gave thanks for what the Earth provided. We will read “The Giving Tree”, by Shel Silverstein and make a “Tree of Thanks” to take home.
