Zionsville Creek Week

Saturday, August 8 - Sunday, August 16

Zionsville Parks and trails along Eagle Creek will be highlighted:
  • Turkey Foot Nature Park
  • Elm Street Green Park
  • Creekside Nature Park
  • Starkey Nature Park
During Creek Week families are encouraged to pick up trash along the trail as they explore the park. While exploring, take photos, share on social media and tag the Town of Zionsville as well as #zionsvillecreekweek. We ask all participants to practice proper social distancing and the use of proper PPE and to dispose of any collected trash in the proper containers located in the parking lots.

Zion Nature Center will provide Facebook Live and or in person programming that relates to the Creek Week theme during the month of August.

Group Cleanups

In addition, we are looking for local service organizations, businesses and churches to register for a group creek cleanup during that time.
  • Groups can register at
  •  Groups will be assigned a section of Eagle Creek on a staggered day and time.
  • All groups will be encouraged to wear protective equipment (gloves, long pants, etc.) and follow social distancing guidelines.
  • Group participants will need to complete waiver forms and have them on file with the Parks Department before they begin their cleanup.
  • General guidelines as well as information on water speed and depth will be shared with a group before their scheduled cleanup.
  • Groups will be required to provide their own trash bags, gloves, PPE and other materials. Collected trash will need to be deposited at a dedicated trash pickup location for that park. Larger item locations can be reported to park staff.
