Spring Dog Walk
Monday, May 5

Enjoy spring and all its sights, sounds and smells as we walk the trails in Starkey Nature Park. Dogs are required to be on a leash and under owner control. Don’t forget your dog waste bags. Dolly, the Town Dog, will be joining us.
Artist Walk with Chris and Jon of Blice Edwards Atelier
Tuesday, May 5

Join muralists Chris Blice and Jon Edwards of Blice Edwards Atelier for an immersive artist walk along the Big 4 Rail Trail, where they’ll share insights into their creative process and artistic journey. Hosted by the Community Foundation of Boone County, this event will also explore the commissioning process behind the stunning bridge and tunnel murals that bring the trail to life.
Chalk the Trail

Grab your sidewalk chalk and join us for Chalk the Trail, where creativity meets the great outdoors! Families are invited to decorate Zionsville’s Big-4 Rail Trail with colorful artwork, leaving a trail of creativity for everyone to enjoy during Trailfest. Whether you’re drawing nature scenes, inspirational messages, or imaginative designs, your art will help brighten the path for all who ride by.
Town Showdown
Friday, May 9

- Community Ride leaves Heritage Trail Park at 6 pm
Join us for the pinnacle event of Trailfest, the Town Showdown. This friendly competition between Whitestown and Zionsville invites participants to showcase their community spirit for a chance for their town to win the Big-4 Rail Trail Golden Bike Wheel.
Come dressed in your best Zionsville green apparel, and show your support for our community. Don't bike? No problem! Grab your hiking shoes, stroller, skateboard or scooter and roll up the Big-4 Rail Trail to for the 7 pm community count. The Town with the most attendees wins the Golden Bike Wheel for 2025.
- Bike Check Station: eBoom will be on hand at Panther Park to check tire pressure, adjust brakes and seats and get your bike ready for summer.
- Food Trucks: grab a bite to eat for dinner or a snack before you ride back home.
- Team Challenge: Dress in your Zionsville green apparel and show your Town spirit. There will be a count at 7 pm to determine which Town brought the most participants to win the coveted Golden Bike Wheel.
- Community Ride: Meet Zionsville Parks and Recreation at Heritage Trail Park, 4050 S 875 E for a community ride to Panther Park. The ride promotes cycling as a healthy and sustainable mode of transportation while showcasing the completed Big-4 Rail Trail.
- Dahlias with Dolly: Stop by the Zionsville Parks and Recreation tent to pick up free dahlia tubers, courtesy of the Zionsville Cultural District! Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a first-time planter, we'll provide expert tips on how to plant and care for these beautiful flowers to ensure they thrive. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring a little extra color to your garden while celebrating community spirit at the Town Showdown!

Stroller Stroll

Stroll on down to Elm Street Green for a spring stroller walk. Enjoy good conversation, a chance to explore Elm Street Green Storywalk and opportunities for littles to play.
eBoom Trail Explorers ride with eBoom

- Creekside Nature Park, 11001 E Sycamore Street (Park in Lions Park and meet the eBoom Riders near the sand volleyball courts)

Why should your child join the eBoom Trail Explorers Ride? Because adventure is best experienced on two wheels! Give your kids a chance to explore nature, build confidence, and enjoy the thrill of a group bike ride in a safe and fun environment.
Join us on a guided after-school biking adventure through Creekside. Designed for ages 6 to 10, this ride encourages young explorers to connect with nature while riding alongside friends. We’ll cruise under the bridge, wind through the park, and pause for three interactive nature stops led by a local Zionsville Parks naturalist. Every participant will receive a special Trail Rider certificate and prize!
Weed Wrangle

Help Zionsville Parks remove invasive species from our natural areas! Weed Wrangle is a one-day volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from non-native invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful plants. Supervised by an expert in invasive weed management, volunteers learn, practice and begin a habit of maintaining an area free of non-native invasive plants that can then be replanted with natives.
