    Zionsville Butterfly Trail June 1 – July 31, 2022 In Celebration of Zionsville Nature Center 20th Anniversary and NWF Mayors Monarch Pledge Leadership Circle Presented by Zionsville Parks Foundation This summer large-scale butterfly wings, painted by local artists, with be on display in various community locations throughout Zionsville. This project was inspired by our town’s commitment to The National Wildlife Federation Mayor’s Monarch Pledge and a celebration of our conservation and environmental education efforts.

    The Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department provides opportunities for community members to give back to our parks and our community. If a volunteer is under the age of 16, they must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. These service events generally last 2-3 hours and are the perfect opportunity to spend some time giving back or fulfilling a service hour requirement. Examples of volunteer community service opportunities: Pull for Parks – Garlic Mustard Pulls Trail Workdays Weeding and Mulching in parks Honeysuckle Removal - Weed Wrangle Eagle Creek Cleanup For questions about volunteer opportunities or the volunteer program, please contact Director of Recreation Services, Mindy Murdock at mmurdock@zionsville-in.gov. Community volunteers will be asked to complete a waiver and will be contacted with regards to location, materials to bring, and specifics for the day.
