Zionsville Butterfly Trail June 1 – July 31, 2022 In Celebration of Zionsville Nature Center 20th Anniversary and NWF Mayors Monarch Pledge Leadership Circle Presented by Zionsville Parks Foundation This summer large-scale butterfly wings, painted by local artists, with be on display in various community locations throughout Zionsville. This project was inspired by our town’s commitment to The National Wildlife Federation Mayor’s Monarch Pledge and a celebration of our conservation and environmental education efforts.

The goal of Zionsville Nature Play Days is to get kids outside and remind families that nature play is import and can happen close to home. Nature Play Days is a statewide initiative of the Indiana Children and Nature Network. Zionsville Parks and Recreation, and its community partners offer free nature, art, cultural and recreation programs during this nine-day long event. Did you know that you can create a “stew” out of the garbage from our homes and turn it into something wonderful for the earth? Come join us as we learn the basics about home composting and doing our part to help the environment.

Have you ever made a gigantic bubble before? Visit just outside the Hussey-Mayfield Library to have fun with bubbles! Try your hand at creating bubbles of all sizes in this fun, hands on program!

You are invited to the Farmstead for hands-on activities to create crafts and toys that would have been available to children in the 1930s, as well as old-fashioned games our grandparents and great-grandparents would have played when they were children.
