Mission
The Zionsville Nature Center encourages Zionsville and Central Indiana families to take an active role in their native environment through educational and inquiry-based programs and activities.Location
The Zionsville Nature Center was founded in 2002 through the dedicated efforts of the Zionsville Parks Department and the Friends of Zion Nature Center.
The Zionsville Nature Center is located inside the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Library in the Hoffman Room.
Exhibits
Exhibits within the Nature Center focus on local Indiana habitats and wildlife. In addition to exhibits, several educational animals are on display including turtles, snakes and amphibians.

Preschool Environmental Education Program Series (PEEPs): Art in Nature Let curiosity lead the way! PEEPs is a playful, hands-on nature program for preschoolers and their caregivers. Each week, we encourage exploration through outdoor adventures, sensory play, and discovery-based learning. Jr Ecologist Homeschool Club: Climate and Weather Calling all young nature enthusiasts! Join a Naturalist from the Zionsville Nature Center for an engaging monthly homeschool series designed to spark curiosity and a love for the natural world. Each month dives into a new nature theme through fun, hands-on activities. At the end of each class, children will receive a themed take-home packet filled with ideas and activities to continue exploring at home.
