Each week, we encourage exploration through outdoor adventures, sensory play, and discovery-based learning. Together, we’ll follow the seasons, explore local wildlife, and support early development through movement, creativity, and connection with nature. Register monthly to join a themed 3-week series. Come ready to play, explore, and get a little messy! Ages: 3 – 6 with an adult

Calling all young nature enthusiasts! Join a Naturalist from the Zionsville Nature Center for an engaging monthly homeschool series designed to spark curiosity and a love for the natural world. Each month dives into a new nature theme through fun, hands-on activities. At the end of each class, children will receive a themed take-home packet filled with ideas and activities to continue exploring at home. This is a drop-off program, but parents are welcome to stay nearby if they wish. Ages: 7-12yrs

Spending time outdoors has numerous benefits for a child’s physical and emotional well-being. During our Toddler Treks we will meet at different Zionsville parks to play, explore, and watch the seasons change. Older siblings are welcome to attend, but activities will be geared towards ages 3 and under. Dress for the weather and be prepared to get moving! Ages: 3 and under with an adult

Join us for a gentle introduction to the wonders of nature designed just for infants and their adults! Enjoy tummy time under the trees with activities like sensory play, story time, or songs, followed by time to relax and connect with other families. Whether you're a first-time parent or adding to your crew, it's a great way to support early development and meet others in the same season of life. Bring a blanket, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy these sweet early moments beneath the trees. Ages: 1 year and under

Whether you're training for a 5K or just want to enjoy some crisp fall air, Run Club is for you. Join a supportive group of runners every Monday evening to move your body, stay accountable, and enjoy the season together. All levels welcome—from walk-joggers to weekend racers. Ages: 12+

Stop by the Zionsville Nature Center twice a month for an exciting chance to meet and learn about our resident reptiles and amphibians. Discover the unique traits of these fascinating creatures as they get enrichment outside of their homes. No reservations needed—just drop in and experience the adventure!

Join the pickleball craze that has been sweeping the nation! Introduction to pickleball will cover the basics of pickleball rules, terminology, primary skills and more. Paddles and balls will be provided. Ages: 15+

The Trailhopper is the newest mobile outreach vehicle to join the Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department. Join us each month as we visit one of our local parks and discover what’s happening in our backyard with hands-on activities and adventures. Drop-in and stay as long as you’d like!

Hosted at the Heritage Trail Park greenhouse, each session invites budding green thumbs and seasoned soil lovers alike to explore everything from seed starting and winter sowing to native planting and vegetable gardening. Whether you’re harvesting seeds or harvesting new friendships, Grow Getters is your chance to dig deeper into sustainable gardening practices—with a playful twist.
