About the Program
Give a gift of green and shade or a place to stop and rest through the Parks Memorial Bench and Tree Donation Program. Memorial donations include select tree species and park benches.
- Memorial tree ($600): Our staff will assist with selection and location within your favorite park. For best success, memorial trees will be planted in the fall of each year. Each tree will be paired with a memorial plaque. The Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department will be responsible for the maintenance and replacement of memorial trees for five years after installation.
- Memorial bench ($2,000): Add a place to rest and appreciate your favorite park or trail with a memorial bench. Our staff will assist with placement and each bench will feature a memorial plaque. The Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department will be responsible for the maintenance and replacement of memorial benches for five years after installation.
Our staff will review each memorial application to ensure the request and appearance complements the proposed location. Payment is required at the time of application approval by the Parks Board.
Once the installation of the memorial item has been completed, the Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department will assume responsibility for the maintenance of the item for five years. The department has the right to remove any item that becomes damaged or degenerates to disrepair and will not be held responsible for replacement five years after installation.
Memorial donations are no longer accepted at Lincoln Park or Elm Street Green.
