The Town of Zionsville’s Stormwater Ordinance and Technical Standards Manual establish requirements for water quantity and water quality for new development, redevelopment and other construction projects located within the consolidated area of Zionsville. The ordinance also contains provisions prohibiting certain types of connections and discharges of pollutants and other problematic materials to the stormwater drainage system and local waterways.
A comprehensive revision of the Ordinance and Standards was adopted by the Zionsville Town Council on December 2, 2013. Notable changes include, but are not limited to, reduced release rates, new post-construction Best Management Practice (BMP) requirements for small and large projects, a Channel Protection Volume requirement, stormwater permit fees, and guidance and incentives for Low Impact Development (LID) and green stormwater infrastructure.
