The Town of Zionsville’s Stormwater Ordinance and Technical Standards Manual establishes requirements for water quantity and water quality for new development, redevelopment and other construction projects located within the consolidated area of Zionsville. The ordinance also contains provisions prohibiting certain types of connections and discharges of pollutants and other problematic materials to the stormwater drainage system and local waterways.
A comprehensive revision of the Ordinance was adopted by the Zionsville Town Council on July 15, 2024. Notable changes include but are not limited to, updated references to current IDEM regulations, requirements for wetlands, project close-out steps, and removed options to apply for a stormwater easement encroachment. Also, a comprehensive effort was put forth to update the Stormwater Technical Standards, and on July 15, 2024, this document was approved for use.
