Fireworks Safety

Did you know July 4th is the busiest day for our nation's emergency rooms?

As we come together to celebrate our nation's independence, let’s keep safety a top priority. Here are a few reminders for a safe and fun 4th of July:

Fireworks Safety:

Leave fireworks to the professionals. Join us at Lions Park! If you're using legal consumer fireworks, follow all local laws, keep water nearby, and never allow children to handle them.

Grilling Safety:

Set up grill at least 10 feet from structures. Allow coals to cool all the way before disposing in metal container.

Recreational Safety:

Keep cooking areas and recreational areas separate. Stay vigilant around water. Make sure you have a First Aid get ready for use.

Respect Your Community:

Clean up after celebrations, respect noise ordinances, and be mindful of your neighbors.

Protect Pets:

Loud noises can terrify animals. Keep pets indoors in a quiet, safe space.

Let’s make Independence Day a celebration to remember — for all the right reasons!
