Heavy Trash Collection

2025 Heavy Trash Collection

WHAT:

The Town of Zionsville’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and Priority Waste will provide the annual Heavy Trash Collection in June for residents in the urban service district. This service provides Zionsville residents in the urban service district, who currently pay for regular weekly trash/recycling through the Town a means to dispose of objects and materials not normally accepted by weekly trash service.

WHEN/WHERE:

Starting the week of Monday, June 9 and continuing through the week of Monday, June 16, residents may place up to six (6) heavy trash items along with their weekly trash curbside on their non-recycle week during this period. There is no weight limit for the items placed. Tires and refrigerant bearing appliances DO NOT count against the six  item limit.

Items must be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your non-recycle week to guarantee collection.

TIRES AND REFRIGERANT BEARING APPLIANCES:

To dispose of used tires and refrigerant bearing appliances, residents must contact the DPW at (317) 873-4544 prior to collection date to provide their address, item(s) to be collected and day of collection.

Appliances containing refrigerant do not need to be purged prior to pick-up. The refrigerant will be properly recovered and disposed of upon collection by the town.

MORE:

Unacceptable items include, at a minimum, tube TV's and monitors, antifreeze, oil, gasoline, gasoline cans/tanks, propane tanks, batteries, paint, paint thinners, flammable or toxic liquids, medical waste, construction and/or demolition debris, any type of fencing, concrete, bricks, sod, soil, trees, tree trunks or stumps, and piles of loose materials of any kind.
