Appearing in Court

Court Dates

Court sessions are held once per month for initial appearances. Trial court sessions are held every third Thursday of the month beginning at 6 p.m. after the evening’s initial hearings at 5:30 p.m.

Please note: the date listed on your ticket is your initial hearing, not a trial date. If you wish to plead not guilty, you must appear for your scheduled initial hearing. This is your initial appearance, the officer is not required to be present at this hearing and charges will not be dropped if the officer is not present at initial hearing. A trial date will be assigned for the officer’s appearance at a later date.

Continuances

If you wish to request a continuance of your court date, you must email the Court in writing and obtain approval at least five days before your scheduled Court date.

Trials

Proper attire is required for Court appearances. If you wish to deny the charges against you, you must appear in court on the initial appearance date listed on your ticket. A trial date will be set for you at that time.

Fees

Failure to pay or appear in Court as required will result in an additional $25 late fee and the suspension of your driving privileges.
